Latest questions about "vhs to dvd"

On lots of VHS tapes there are "dead spots" with nothing but blackness. Every time I get to one of those spots Roxio automatically stops recording.

I am having trouble telling the program where I want it to put the digital data from my converted VHS file. It seems to be converting and recording, but the output is not where I wanted it.
