I receive a 404 error code when using Gmail Notifier.

I've been using Gmail Notifier for a few years and it was quite happily working until about 2 hours ago. I now only get a 404 error code. I've uninstalled/reinstalled a few times and nothing happened.

I need delivery confirmation for selected Gmail contacts.

I'm looking for something that will allow me to confirm receipt for selected contacts only. I already use Google Talk, so don't need anything for inbound.
