No sound and action at Classic PhoneTools v.9.0

I can't hear the sound during outgoing calls and I don't see any action during incoming calls. I'm using Classic PhoneTools v9.0. My phone speakers are disabled in the program's interface.

I receive a dialog box when I try to use this application.

I have been using Phone Tools version 2.19 with a USR 56K professional mode. For some time I was able to fax documents from Microsoft Word.
