I receive a "Communication error" from SEL-5860.

When I connect the SEL-5860 device to my PC using the serial port, I receive a "Communication error". Can you help?

Firstly, in order to fix the issue, press Windows + Pause/Break key combination and open Device Manager. Expand the Ports list, right-click the SEL-5860 item and select Uninstall. After that, reboot your computer, create a mySEL account, log in to the official web page and download and install the latest driver and software for your device. Also, you need to download and install .NET Framework 2.0 and to use a Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server computer.
