Finding the right port.

asked by about NVMS-1000

I am using a 24 channel AHD Hybrid DVR with H.264 NVR software. It seems to be working correctly. The default setup for this DVR uses a default IP address 192.168.1.77, a HTTP port of 80 and a server port of 6036. I port forwarded these on my modem.

When I tried to use these parameters on NVMS-1000, the cameras would not come up. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Make sure that when you forward the ports to enable Both connection methods meaning you should have TCP and UDP enabled. Secondly, disable the Firewall because if unknown packets are requested through the IP, the Firewall on the modem might block them.

On your router/modem, it should look like this:

  1. Remote host: EMPTY
    Local IP: 192.168.1.77
    Connection: TCP/UDP
    Port range: 80-80

  2. Remote host: EMPTY
    Local IP: 192.168.1.77
    Connection: TCP/UDP
    Port range: 6036-6036
