Have Viber security issues been fixed?

There were some serious issues with Viber back in 2013, 2014 about data encryption. I would like to know whether those issues have been fixed and if yes since when? Now does it use end to end encryption for the data shared among the Viber users even the service providers cannot see the stuff that shared?

There was a case back in 2014 regarding the unencrypted data left on Viber's servers. Anyone who had access to those links obtained through MITM attacks could possible access the contents. Nowadays, the protocol is heavy encrypted which means everything is on HTTPS and secure protocols. The encryption is END TO END which means Viber administrators can't see what you're sharing with someone.
