What I did was go to the play store go to my apps and delete the apps that were not installed it worked fine for me on npmty Asus nexus 1st gen

I had the same problem. Then i emailed the whatsapp supports. And they told me to download the latest version from the web. Www.whatsapp.com/android.
And.. my whatsapp happily comeback to life! :)

Untick the "Restrict ... ticked.
Repeat for as many Google apps as you can see ...

It is not that difficult. Go into settings menue. Than select data using. Scroll down. Go and select every icon. Allow always backgrounddata. This should work. It helps me. Sorry for my bad english.

Usually fixing this error might be easier than you ... as a simple logout from the Google Play could do the trick and ... clear the cache of the Google Play application in the Settings menu ...
