I just got a Photon Max and tried using it on my laptop running Windows 8. The Photon Max dongle does not respond with any pop-up window or it does not even show in the list of drives? Kindly guide me how to solve this problem and install this Photon Max in my laptop.

I tried reaching the Customer Care, believe me they don't care, they keep you hanging on your phone and the recorded voice keeps saying the same non-sense.

Anyway, I hope to get some help from the Netizens to solve this problem.

The Photon Dongle doesn't appear in the list of the drivers because it's not installed and recognized properly. First plug the device to your computer and let Windows install the generic Mass Storage drivers then right click its driver in Computer and select Explore. Right click the installation package and select Properties > Compatibility. Choose a previous version of Windows and then proceed the installation as Administrator. Right click the file and select Run as Administrator. Finish the installation and reboot the computer and unplug the USB drive. After Windows boots, plug the USB back and press Windows Key + X > Device Manager. Right click the device in the list and select Update Driver. Afterwards, point the installer to the installation folder in Program Files and let Windows manually install the dongle. It should work and the application should start normally without freezing and that's it. You will have a working USB dongle in Windows 8.
