I have a Dell Notebook with Windows 7 64 bit OS. I was trying to install Skype but I failed. I de-activated McAfee Anti Virus and Skype started to work. Could you please tell me if McAfee supports Skype? I have heard that instead of de-activating I can select option to add Skype to exclusions list. How to do that? I can't keep my Notebook without Anti-Virus. Or can you provide me the list of anti-virus apps which are compatible with Skype?

Deactivating your antivirus soultion won't work but instead you should add Skype to the list of the excluded files from protection and this could be performed in a few easy steps like

  1. Go to Start> Programs > Network Associates > Viruscan Console
  2. Double-click Unwanted Programs Policy
  3. Select Exclusions
  4. Click Add.. then Browse...
  5. Select `Skype
  6. Click Ok
  7. Eventually restart your computer for the settings to take effect
