To edit Android contacts to computer, you need to have an USB cable which you connect to your phone and laptop. You will see an installation bubble pop up in the bottom right of your screen. On your Android phone pull down the notification window and tap USB connected. Tap Mount on the notification window that appears. Find the removable storage drive and drag and drop the desired files to the drive. In your phones notification window tap Turn off USB storage and then unplug your phone. Or you can also try Android Managerto deal with this problem. It is a useful tool.

You can edit the contacts from your PC without the need to install anything. Connect your phone to WiFi, then go to Settings > Accounts > Google. Tap on the default account, then tap on Sync Contacts. Wait for the process to complete (sync activity will stop).

Open a browser, then go to Google Contacts and log-in with the account attached to your phone. Edit the contacts, then SYNC them with the phone again and that's it. You can add pictures, edit fields, notes, etc.
