Device Manager error in application.

When trying to add Counter or Device Status Notification I get the following error:

The operations cannot continue due to an error in the application.
Please login again.

I use Device Manager version 3.0.05. What could be the solution to this problem? DM is installed on Windows Server 2008 R2.

Close all the background applications and restart the application. Log-in again and make sure that there is no other applications that have the possibility to interact with the application, then perform the same operation again. Alternatively, restart the server and the application. If the application is working just fine, a simple restart and relogin will fix this error.
