I have HP Pavilion DV7-6178us entertainment PC and I cannot log in.

Question

For the past 2 years I have used my fingerprints to log on the computer. I am the administrator on the computer. My husband is another user. Yesterday when I tried to get on the computer, I swiped my finger and got the following message:

The user Profile Service service failed the logon
User profile can no be loaded

Same thing happens when I try to get on with the usual (character) password. I can get into my husband's account (which is how I am contacting you now). What do I do?
I use Windows 7.

Try to boot the laptop into Safe Mode using F8 after Post Boot operation. If you know that it worked before, use Last Known Good configuration that worked and enter Windows. If this is still not working, select Safe Mode from the menu mentioned and use the password to log-in.

If the fingerprint feature is operated by a software application (not built-in with Windows or laptop), re-install the application and configure it from Safe Mode once again, then restart the computer.

Another option would be deleting your account and creating a new one from your husband's username (Administrator rights required).
