Try to boot the laptop into Safe Mode using F8 after Post Boot operation. If you know that it worked before, use Last Known Good configuration that worked and enter Windows. If this is still not working, select Safe Mode from the menu mentioned and use the password to log-in.
If the fingerprint feature is operated by a software application (not built-in with Windows or laptop), re-install the application and configure it from Safe Mode once again, then restart the computer.
Another option would be deleting your account and creating a new one from your husband's username (Administrator rights required).
