Internet Download Manager asks me to enter username and password to resume download.

When my Internet Download Manager was downloading video files, it suddenly stopped by some reason and when I resumed, it asked my username and password. How can I get rid of this?

this works for me
- right click on the download and select REFRESH DOWNLOAD ADDRESS. you should see this "IDM is waiting for the new address to resume the file"
- wait for the page to load completely then wait for about a minuite. if the download does not resume carry the download and drop on IDM ITSELF (i.e click and hold on the download, then drag and drop on the download manager). the new address should be recieved and the download should resume

Try to refresh download address and then resume the download. It worked for me, hope it works for you.

refresh address in your idm download list of the item. new page will open and start downloading again, it will resume the download !

to resume your download:
first copy a new download address then go to the idm and double click on the old download file then past the new download address in the address input and voila!

You are trying to resume a download which has been protected with a username and password. In this case, you need to start the download from the beginning while browsing the homepage. In this way you will keep the cookie active on your computer allowing you to download items. I believe this has to do with cookie and their expiry date.

Keep the homepage of the download active perform the download in the same time until it finishes.

Of course, there is the possibility that the server from where you download does not support download managers which in this case you should download the file with your browser.
