I have just tried this myself, as I am a regular user of IDM & Orbit Downloader. Please do the following:

  1. Right click on the download which had been cancelled and choose REFRESH DOWNLOAD ADDRESS.
  2. Remember NOT to click on resume download. After choosing REFRESH DOWNLOAD ADDRESS, a dialog box will appear and choosing OK will open an Internet Explorer window taking you to the same address you downloaded earlier from., e.g., mediafire etc. If you are using Firefox then you will have to copy the URL opened in Firefox to Internet Explorer in this step.
  3. A small dialog box will also appear having IDM is waiting for the new address to resume the fileā€¦, just place it aside and right click on the download option and choose Download with IDM just the way you did before or just click on the download link simply.
  4. Click OK and again, right click on download option to choose Download with idm, this time following dialog box appears, which gives you options of resumin downloads with options.
  5. You have to choose the third option and to resume the download and it will continue from the place it got cancelled.

I hope this assists you, but still, I would advise that you try & make a permalink of the files, & also there is another lengty way, which I follow at the times of **Resume Capability: NO**, *which is something like this*: I go to the temp folder of the currently downloading file, & keep that open all the time. In case anytime, the server gets rejected, then I just copy the completely downloaded files from there & paste them somewhere else temporarily, till the time the resume is not started, or the new link is not started.
Then before, I start the new link, IDM, which starts to autodownload as soon as it gets the link in the start download link, I go to the current (herein the new) temp folder & paste the completely downloaded files there to get the download % higher.

**N.B.**: The lenghty version is for those who like experimenting with things & not getting annoyed if it does not work, as there is no guarantee of the steps to work & there are flaws everywhere.

Hope, this assits. :)
