I have a problem with Internet Explorer. For every page I try to browse I receive the following error: Server not found.

Why does the error message says the server is not found? My desktop computer is running Windows XP SP2. This only happens for Internet Explorer as Mozilla Firefox is my default browser and it's working fine.

Please go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Setting. Make sure that no proxy is set up in this field.

You can check the same for Firefox just in case you are using a proxy but it's not configured properly. Use this path to reach proxy settings: Tools > Options > Advanced > Network.

Also check wheather your internet explorer is set to work in offline mode.
