The all-in-one device can be installed using its software and drivers and without cartridges you can only test the scanner portion. You can download all the appropriate drivers and software from the support page. If the printer installs when you run the setup package, you only need to replace the cartridges or simply re-fill them as it's a custom among printer users to use this option instead of buying a new one.
