Black squares covered all my desktop icons except the trash bin and the computer ones. I don't recall doing anything weird. I rebooted and all that (several times).

My System:
Windows 7 SP1
Dual Core E8300
8 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce GT 570, two monitors
Logitec setpoint and lsd core programs for G510 & G9x gaming keyboard/mouse.

I have a bunch of programs, too many to list which include a lot of games installed (over 60).

Anyone else had this problem?

Black squares appear when there is a faulty hardware device on your computer. In this case, I would check the graphics card because as I can understand you are experiencing problems related to this device as black squares are artifacts (errors) of the graphic card.
