I got i7 932 as core at the moment and 1770 memory. Should I turn down memory and go for some more core processing power?

You have the latest processor regarding your computational power. This and the memory you're using make a computer with great processing power but since applications and games nowadays require more and more memory, I would advise you to add more memory because 1770 is too slow with a CPU like that.
