I have floppy disks for a Grammar program I would like to install into my Windows 7. The file extensions are not recognised. They are .tbk. How can I open them?

A TBK file has nothing to do with installation operations. These files are simple backup files used by Toolbook, so in order to read them you will need this application. Most likely those files are backup databases containing grammar data/exercises.

Thank you Andrew. Much appreciated. You saved me so much time trying to figure out what to do next. You're right it is an educational program i first purchased in 1993 in floppy disk format which I was able to copy and use on Windows XP. The computer I have which uses Windows 7 does not however recognise the program.

I have contacted Toolbook who hopefully can get this up and running.

Did you solve your problem ?
I do have the same problem with "Focus On Grammar" that I want to install on a Windows 7 computer.

Thanks a lot !

I discovered that you can install a program 'Virtual PC' that will run an XP program, provided you have Windows 7 Professional. It will only work with this version of Windows 7.
