Information about snaps on Snapchat.

I received a Snap from someone prior to adding them to my friend list. Once I accepted the Snap, it stated something about two minutes ago. Was that the actual time it was sent or was it based on me accepting the snap request because it began calculating the time after I had opened it as usual?

For Snapchat, the time displayed refers to the time when the snap was sent to you. Just ask some friend from your list to send a snap, and then ignore it. Open the snap later, and you will see the time when the snap was sent to you. This is the way the Snapchat application works.
