my phone was not used for quite a while all i did was take out my sim card and battery plugged it up without the battery and then put everything back in im so happy i figured this out

My phone would randomly turn off and on and finally it wouldnt turn on. i took out the sim card and the battery an plugged in a usb cable to try and trouble shoot the device. it turned and stayed on ...

If the battery runs to zero, try holding down the power button after it has recharged.

I discovered that I needed to hold down the volume UP button and power to get to the reboot screen on my UMX phone.
