Why cant i open jpeg files and scans?

I cannot open my scanned .tif, .jpeg files in HP Document Viewer.
Go to Control Panel, uninstall HP printer application, remove the Microsoft Security Update, then reinstall HP printer software. HP Document Viewer should work fine after performing these operations.  more
