We think we are paid-up, but we can no longer acess our account. How do we check into this?

To check your subscription, you might log in the website of the application but the problem is that there is no website for this application. In this case, it's impossible to check for subscription, however, if the application is installed, access the Help menu and navigate to the official website if it still exists.
