what does the object part of Babylon do?

Question

When I click to open my browser page recently , I have another page automatically pop up behind it it called Babylon Search, why? It's annoying.
Also the bottom toolbar is now white and the first icon is windows start icon. It was not that before, it just said start in a round circle. HELP????
