How can I unlock my Android LG phone?

Last October (2013) I had an Android phone. I have the activation card and I signed in my Google account to see if that could actually find my phone. It's mine. Anyways, it was stolen by the 12 year old cousin who lives with my papa. My phone service has ended, but I got my phone back (the phone service ended November 7th). She puts a password on my phone and I don't know what to do. I've tried entering the PIN 5 times wrong, but it only tells me to wait thirty seconds to try again. I can't connect my phone to WiFi (if that will even help) because the only place it will connect is at the cousin's house. My mom said the the factory restore is the last resort, but my papa wants to know what's on the phone so he can make sure that nothing's bad. It is an LG device. Can you help?

If you can't connect to WiFi, I recommend you insert a SIM card and ask the network carrier to activate your Data Connection option. After that, log in to your Google account and you will be able to unlock the device by using the recovery code. Also, after your network carrier activates the Data Connection, you can download and install Screen Lock Bypass Pro from Google Play Store. This utility will bypass the lock screen and reset/remove your screen lock password, pattern or PIN number.
