Yes. Anyone can change their status on Viber to Invisible. This can be done by opening the application, tap the Menu button > Settings > Display My Online Status. If this isn't checked, your status will automatically be hidden until you change it again. If someone has its status hidden this way, there is no way to know when he / she is online.
