When I'm typing, my cursor changes its position. The cursor will jump from where I'm typing and place itself inside another word or somewhere else within the document. When I use the shift key it will sometimes highlight a paragraph. I have changed the settings on my touch-pad, so they are not sensitive. I make a special effort to not touch it but it doesn't seem to matter. I have Microsoft Windows 7. Can you help?

In order to fix the problems, right-click My Computer/Computer icon, select Manage and open Device Manager. Expand the Mice and other pointing devices list, right-click on the touch-pad driver and press Uninstall. Reboot the PC, press Scan for hardware changes icon from Device Manager and reinstall the drivers. If it doesn't help, plug to your computer a USB mouse and check if the issue persists. If it still doesn't work, you will need to visit a local service center.
