My hard drive crashed and after installing a new drive, I cannot process Visa/MasterCard transactions. I get an error message of "TAPI device not configured". How do I fix this?
You can relate this message to two possible causes:
You need to access the software to configure the TAPI device for PC Transact It. In this case, start the application and access the Settings menu to configure the module/device attached to PC.
The driver for the TAPI device is not installed properly, although you have a working application. To fix this, access Device manager (Start > Run > devmgmt.msc) and locate the problematic item. Right click it and choose to install it in automatic mode or manual by browsing to the path where the INF files are stored. Install the TAPI device and then restart the application and it should work.
