If you had your files hidden before you run the Format process, they are still on the mentioned drive (C:). If the files were visible, they were removed. In order to transfer the files from C:\ drive to another one (E:\ in your case) you should open the program and un-hide them first. After you did this, simply go to C:\, select them and use the Copy / Paste process to transfer them to another drive. You should know that if you formated the C:\ drive in the installation process of the Windows OS, your files were removed and there is no way to recover them.
