How to move files from one OS to another?

I have installed Samsung PC Studio 3 in Windows XP. Now I want to format XP partition and install Vista. How to backup files (SMS and Contacts) so I can use them in Vista?

Install Samsung PC Studio and use the backup/export feature. You will have the possibility to backup Contacts, SMS, additional contacts, and apps if they are available.
