I can't close Microsoft Office Word properly

When I want to close Microsoft Office, I'm receiving an error message: "Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". What can I do?

This can happen if the file you are viewing in MS Word is corrupt. If this is the case with every MS Word file then Reinstalling Office will solve your problem.

In order to fix the issue, go to Start, type winword /safe, and open the program. If it opens, navigate to File > Options > Add-Ins and click the Go button next to Manage. Uncheck one by one the plugins and try to use the software. If it doesn't open in safe mode or if it doesn't work after you disable the plugins, go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a program, select the Office Suite from the list, click the Change button next to Uninstall, select Repair, click Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions:
