Apply compatibility settings to Windows XP, then install the drivers manually. Basically, you need to install the software and then the drivers using the Device Manager. Install the software, restart the PC and plug the device then go to Device Manager (Start > Run> degmgmt.msc). Right click the item and select Update Driver. Choose to install manually and browse the installer to the Program Files\Datacard folder. Select the INF or simply select the folder and the driver will be installed. If Windows informs you the drivers haven't been signed, simply ignore the warning and continue the installation. Reboot the computer again to finish the operation and that's it. It will work this way.
