Happened to me a few times. Try restarting your computer but leaving it plugged in so your computer already recognises what it is.
If you plug it in your computer takes 10 minutes or so figuring out what it is and whether you need to download anything additional for it to work. If you restart your computer by the time you click LG PC Suite it will have already recognised what it is and will work. If your computer has wireless settings you could try connection through bluetooth!
