I really enjoy this program, but it seems that no matter what the beta versions of some programs still show themselves.

I already went through the menus and checked the box stating "Don't show me beta versions" but say for 7-zip the background still shows up red, When I have the latest stable release. Is this supposed to happen? And is there a way that I am only notified when updates are given to stable releases only?

The latest version of the software provides ways to disable the updates for the beta versions. You can see in the image below how to disable the application. After the application is installed, go to More > Settings. Disable the option from the General menu, then perform a refresh within the application. Make sure that you also installed the latest versions of the software. Restart the client, refresh again and everything should be fixed.
