First, try updating the software to the latest version. If it doesn't help, uninstall the application using its uninstaller or Add or Remove Programs feature and download and install Samsung Kies. Also, you need to know that if you want to transfer data you don't need any software. Once you connect the device to your PC using the USB cable, press Mass Storage from your phone screen and wait Windows to recognize the device. After that, access the Samsung drive from My Computer/Computer and transfer the files using copy/paste feature.
