First, go to Start, type ncpa.cpl and open the utility. Right-click on the Local Are Connection entry and select Properties. On the General tab, make sure that the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) box is checked. Click OK and then reboot your PC. After that, try sending an email to yourself. If it doesn't work, open Outlook and go to Tools > Account Settings > Change your profile > More Settings > Advanced. Check the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) box and select AUTO from the Use the following type of encryption connection drop-down list. For further solutions, check the troubleshooting guides provided by Microsoft.
