The Ubuntu Menu successfully shows when starting, viz

  • Demo and Full Installation,
  • Install Inside Windows, and
  • Learn More.

On attempting to install 'Inside Windows', the installation seems to work well until near the end of installation when I get a message - ' An error occurred - Permission denied - Please see the log File …..wubi-9.04rev..

This log file is very lengthy but towards the end I have found the following which may be the reason for not being able to install Ubuntu – “cannot download metalink and therefore Traceback”

The same think happens when trying to run ‘Demo and Full Installation.

answered by

you must have administrator privilegies to install ubuntu inside windows partition. It is required to change boot manager config file. Run setup as an administrator, or allow privilegies elevation when asked by UAC in Windows Vista.
