The only way to get the LCD to view mode is through the buttons on the camera or using the Settings menu. Although you have the possibility to connect the camera to the PC, there is no way to configure it using the software used to get or modify the images. Every configuration needs to be done within the OSD menu available on the camera. This is the only way. Usually, the settings related to the LCD is under the Display menu.
