I am not able to burn a CD-R.

For this operation you need to make sure that you're using a CD Writer and a blank CD. Most important is to pay attention to the data that will be burned on the CD as it should not pass 700 MB. After you check these settings, you can burn whichever CD you need.

If the above suggestions are not efficient, you will need to re-install Nero Express or update it to a superior version.
