Get ''Can not connect to server'' error

I have a Wireless connected weather station. The USB unit cannot be connected, and the system message is: "Cannot connect to server". I am working in Windows 7. What can be wrong?

Please check your firewall and make sure the USB unit's software is permitted to access the server. Most likely, it's blocked and it cannot reach the server's IP address. Also, you need to configure the devices on your network to use the same IP netmasks and gateway to connect them.
