Problem with Panasonic video recorder after recording

I recorded a DVD-R mini disc using the Panasonic video recorder. I recorded about ten minutes of a film and was able to watch what was recorded, but when I recorded for the second time and tried to watch what was on the disc it told me there's an error in the image file. Can you help?

Most likely you have overwritten your disc and the old recording became inaccessible. Please check the configuration settings in order for the program to skip writing to disc if it has content because in this case the old content would be replaced.
