My Dell Webcam Central is not working and keeps telling me to plug in a supported device but it is a built-in webcam.

This error is caused by Windows Update applied to drivers of the webcam. Since the fix to re-install Windows is inconvenient, I recommend using a trick. Please open Dell Webcam Central and while it's open, unplug a USB device (mouse, HDD, another webcam, etc.) and the camera will start. It's a dirty trick but I must assure you it will work.
