Trying to convert a Power Point presentation to MAC, I got an error message #2147483640. Which converter do I need?

I have received a pptx file that will not convert. I am working on my wife's MacBook Air and do not know what converter I need. I got an error message #2147483640.

It's kind of a shot in the dark, but try simply renaming the .pptx file changing its extension to .ppt. It should open without any problems (or need for conversion) after that.
