Are there any tricks to allow the usb debugging tool to connect to a Moog Slim Phatty?

I have carefully followed the instructions but the debugging tool cannot make the connection to the Slim Phatty, you can see it try because the power/run lights come on for a second but then go out and the failed to connect screen pops up.

Unfortunately, the Silicon Laboratories FLASH Programming Utilities for Windows does not support the Moog Slim Phatty.
