Since I have a 2015 version of Movie Maker for MAC, what is specifically is needed to download the latest version?

I used the 2015 version to record my prior videos. I cannot open them now and the notation says that it cannot open the videos and needs a up-to-date version. I tried downloading the newest version and they still not open.
