It's hard to believe that your account might be hacked, because the attacker should have access to your phone number to confirm the login. Your phone is more likely to be infected with malware that sends chat replies in groups.
If you're on Android, access the Android Informer and look for an antivirus solution that you can install on your phone, then scan it. I recommend Malwarebytes.
