For MIDI files, simply rename the file and delete the I as it will play normally and without errors since they're the same file format.
I've just tried this and the file works and plays normally without errors. Also, the software allows you to input files in MIDI/MID format, but the output ones are totally different. Similar type conversion is not supported.
