AVG Protection Free, Power2Go, and Software Informer.

Question

Software Informer reports an update to version 7.3.2016.121. AVG program reports its version as 17.3.3443.0. Seems S.I. is not reporting/updating properly for version. Closing/opening program makes no difference.

Power2Go was updated and installed several days ago. It is the 15-day trial version which overwrote the version that came with the computer. Any way to revert back to original as I think it removed something to do with LabelPrint? Not sure if the non-trial version will still be there with LabelPrint or not.

Is there any way to get S.I. to ignore certain updates? I have software which I do not want to update as I do not want to pay for new versions or it comes from GiveAwayoftheDay (GAOTD)and it is a one-time free install of full program.

The delay in updates is somehow normal. The latest version will appear shortly when it will be posted. No app on the Internet (or AVG) will give you instant updates when developers release it. Just wait a day or two and the update will appear in Software Informer.

Unfortunately, if the Power2Go doesn't have an option to go back to a previous version, then it's impossible to do it and that version you need has to be downloaded manually again.

Software Informer won't update the apps automatically. You will have to press the Update button in order to start it, therefore you are safe with your apps.
