When the developers mention the license will last as long as the board is working, they actually referred to the motherboard. If you change the installation ID, the license will appear as Not Valid since it's already activated on the previous motherboard. You would have to change your HWID to match the one on the previous PC and then replace it on your new PC and install the software.
